CommentsThe fact that the Nashville CD has sold well shows that there is a market for Badfinger music. If the demand is there, why isn't Apple making the original CD's available for purchase? Most stores carry few, if any, Apple Badfinger CD's. They are bringing in the Nashville CD because they have perceived a demand and it is the only Badfinger product they can acquire to meet that demand. Apple has failed to make the original CD's available and has done a horrible injustice to this part of their catalogue and to the band members and their estates. If Apple re-released the original recordings, (adding more tracks to "Ass"), they would outsell the Nashville CD. The purchasing managers of the stores would be more inclined to acquire the original Apple CD's because they would make more profit on a higher priced Apple CD. Until Apple does something, the dilemna we Badfinger fans must debate is: what is better, no Badfinger product on store shelves or a poor quality re-recording of some of the songs? The lesser of two evils, in my opinion, is to have something on the shelves. It gives consumers something to buy and it puts money into the pockets of the band members and their estates.
